Concert in Evansville – Featuring The Lovin’ Spoonful and Lou Christie
September 22, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Do you believe in Magic? The Indiana Section AWWA will host our annual benefit concert for Water for People at the Victory Theater in Evansville. This year’s event features two dynamic musical groups of the sixties on one stage!
Combining the best of folk music and rock and roll, with a touch of country, The Lovin’ Spoonful gave us hits such as “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Daydream,” “You Didn’t Have to be So Nice,” and the classic anthem for a hot July evening, “Summer in the City.” And…his first million-selling song, “The Gypsy Cried,” transformed choirboy, Lugee Alfredo Giovanni Sacco, into Lou Christi – National Teen Idol! Over the decade of the 1960s, he followed with more amazing hits: “Two Faces Have I,” “Rhapsody in the Rain,” “I’m Gonna Make You Mine,” and “Lightnin’ Strikes.” Lou Christie’s stratospheric falsetto keeps on striking, again, and again, and again! You don’t want to miss this fantastic evening of pure nostalgia.
Tickets may be purchased at the Ford Center Ticket Office, www.Ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 800-745-3000.
