Emergency Response Seminar
October 29, 2015 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
The Indiana Section AWWA is pleased to partner with the Indiana Water / Wastewater Agency Response Network (InWARN), the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS), other supporting water associations, and representatives from utilities across Indiana for a FREE EPA-Sponsored event focused on emergency preparedness and response to incidents affecting water and wastewater utilities.
This event will consist of an emergency response seminar with presentations and a tabletop exercise (TTX). The seminar presentations will cover topics related to InWARN, as well as water and wastewater preparedness and response. The TTX will be based on a hypothetical incident designed to bring together the water sector, state and county agencies, and emergency management to discuss roles and responsibilities.
Natural and manmade disasters can affect Indiana at any time, which emphasizes the need for preparedness at all levels. The seminar and TTX will demonstrate the value of InWARN during an emergency that impacts the water sector and will exhibit how InWARN can be used across the state to facilitate the sharing of resources during emergencies.
CEUs will be available.
To register for the event, follow the link below. All attendees must register for this EPA-sponsored no-cost event in order to provide an accurate headcount. Once registered, you will be emailed a confirmation sheet containing directions to the training event location. We look forward to your participation.
