May 7, 2019: Surviving Multiple Major Projects; Nappanee IN
May 7, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
This workshop will provide perspective on how to manage major projects and maintain day to day operations while doing so. Please join us to learn from the experiences and successes of the City of Nappanee. Topics discussed will include the following:
Sammlung Platz Lift Station – This lift station project was a developer funded project within the City of Nappanee to serve a new event center on the west side of Nappanee. The lift station was increased in depth by the City in order to service additional areas beyond the event Center with the City paying the additional incremental cost.
Wellfield Park – The wellfield park project consisted of two projects utilizing two different funding sources. The Nappanee Soccer Complex portion of the work included a turf field and associated access site improvements including access drives which was funded using primarily local funding sources. The second project was the construction of two new production wells for the City of Nappanee. This portion of the project was funded by Indiana Finance Authority (SRF) and included a transmission main to bring the flow back to the City’s existing Water Treatment Plant.
Nappanee’s New Wet Weather Treatment Facility – The project recently completed a Long Term Control Plan Improvements Project. The Project included the design and construction of a new CSO interceptor sewer, wet weather storage basin, and wet weather treatment facility.
The day will conclude with tours of each of these new facilities around Nappanee. Transportation will be provided.
