Purpose and Objectives
Protecting drinking water at its source is one of the critical first steps in the utility process to treat and deliver high quality water to customers. Source water protection programs take many forms, such as spill prevention and response planning, stakeholder education, coordination with upstream point source dischargers, and addressing upstream non-point sources. This committee is working to develop opportunities to educate utilities, stakeholders, and the public on the various aspects of source water protection – utilities, agriculture, businesses, and public education.
